Memorial Video

I put together a DVD for Jay’s memorial and if you would like to watch it again or download it, I’ve uploaded it here:

You may need the latest version of Apple Quicktime to view them properly.

If you weren’t able to make the memorial service or didn’t get a DVD and you want one, you can either email help@prayforjay.org or I’ve also uploaded the ISO image that you can download and burn yourself.

Amy’s Remembrance

I always thought of Jay as a creative and spiritual soul. So much so, he might have thought I was crazy for buying him self-reflection type books on Christmas every year. I knew he deeply wanted to connect with his spiritual side and all I could think of was giving him a book to read. Sure we hung out a lot and he loved spending time with the kids, but I knew there was always something else he wanted to connect with as well. He would go outside and work on the wonders of nature until his yard looked perfect. The kids would play in the foreground of his manicured garden and you knew he was happiest there. Throw in some bags and BBQ with family and good friends and it was a good day for Jason – daddy, son, uncle, brother, husband. Loving him was so easy and missing him is so hard.

Memorial Service

A visitation will be held for Jason on Sunday, December 13th from 2:00 – 8:00 pm with the funeral service beginning at 6:00 pm. It will be held at:

Blake-Lamb Funeral Home
5015 Lincoln Avenue
Lisle, IL 60532

Jason Hinkle 3/14/72 – 12/9/09

I would like to express my  gratitude to all of you who have posted kind words, thoughts and prayers for Jason.  Jay loved his family most, and I know he would be so thankful to all that have reached out and offered help to his family during this difficult time.

Jason was the type of man who loved to help other people and to see them happy.  When he gave you a hug it made you feel like he hugged your entire being.  To know Jay was to know a man of pride, integrity and strength.  We remember and love the man who played a special role in our lives.  Jason loved his children more than anything in this world and his spirit will continue to live on through Chase and Anna .  Keep Jason’s spirit by remembering what is most important in life:  love.

Update 12/3/09

It’s been a roller coaster week, but Jay has been stable. His inter-cranial pressure (ICP) has been staying in a good zone and he’s shown some positive signs – he’s been responding to some stimulus and has opened his eyes when being roused, moved his eyes towards people speaking to him and made other movements. It’s still a long road ahead, but Jay’s a fighter and we’ll all be here to help him the whole way.
